Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

GoogleGain (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

1. Data We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

  • Email address — provided when you run an audit or create an account. Used to deliver your report, enforce free-tier quotas, and send optional monitoring alerts.
  • Website URLs — the URLs you submit for auditing, including any competitor URLs. Stored alongside your audit results.
  • Audit results — the SEO scores, issues, and recommendations generated for each audit. Stored so you can access past reports and track progress over time.
  • Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status only.
  • IP address — collected for rate limiting (max 10 audits per hour per IP). Stored temporarily in our database for up to 1 hour, then automatically cleared.
  • Usage data — basic server logs (request timestamps, HTTP status codes) retained for up to 30 days for debugging purposes.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To generate and deliver your SEO audit report
  • To enforce free-tier limits (3 audits per email + domain combination)
  • To send your report by email and, if opted in, weekly monitoring alerts
  • To process payments and manage your subscription via Stripe
  • To improve the accuracy and relevance of our audit recommendations

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third parties only to the extent necessary to operate the service:

  • Stripe — payment processing. Your payment details are sent directly to Stripe and subject to Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery. Your email address and audit summary are passed to Resend to deliver your report.
  • Supabase — database and authentication hosting. Your account data and audit records are stored in Supabase-managed PostgreSQL.
  • Anthropic — AI analysis. The URL and crawled HTML metadata from your site are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate audit recommendations. No personally identifiable information beyond the URL is included.
  • Vercel — application hosting and edge infrastructure. All server-side processing runs on Vercel.

4. Data Retention

Audit records (URL, score, issues, recommendations) are retained for 12 months from the date of the audit. After 12 months, records are automatically deleted. You may request earlier deletion at any time — see Section 6.

If you delete your account, all associated audit records are deleted within 30 days.

5. Cookies & Tracking

We use session-only cookies for authentication (to keep you logged in). These cookies expire when you close your browser or log out. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or similar third-party tracking scripts.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access — you may request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to erasure — you may request that we delete your account and all associated data.
  • Right to rectification — you may request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Right to portability — you may request your audit data in a machine-readable format.
  • Right to object — you may object to processing based on legitimate interests.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@googlegain.com. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Database credentials and API keys are stored as encrypted environment variables and never exposed client-side. Access to production data is restricted to authorised personnel only.

8. Children’s Privacy

GoogleGain is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
